DID YOU KNOW? If you were or have been an F-1 student in the U.S., In 2025, you have an IRS tax reporting responsibility and are required to file your taxes every year whether you have worked or not. Cal Lutheran offers F1 international students the opportunity to meet this requirement through an online tax-reporting software for foreign nationals called Sprintax. The Sprintax codes will be coming out soon for purchase. Keep checking the OISS newsletter with an updated announcement about the upcoming tax season.

Are you traveling internationally during the Thanksgiving or Winter breaks? Make sure to submit your travel intention form by the following deadlines (no need to submit a request if you are not traveling abroad):

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS TRAVELING IN NOVEMBER 2024

Deadline of travel request submission: 11/08/2024

ALL STUDENTS TRAVELING IN DECEMBER 2024

Deadline of travel request submission: 12/02/2024

Things to prepare before traveling internationally:

• Verify that your travel signature (page 2) is valid for your return to the U.S. Each signature is active for 12 months (6 months for OPT students).
• Verify that all travel documents on your OISS portal are the most up-to-date
• Verify that your I-20 is your most recent one (added a new major?)

The Languages and Cultures Department is hosting a free day trip to Los Angeles on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The trip includes a visit to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, lunch at a French bistro, and time to explore The Grove. All costs, including round-trip transportation, museum entry, and lunch, are covered.
