Scandinavian Festival: Leif Erikson Day Celebration

Cal Lutheran will host a special Leif Erikson Day Celebration, marking the 200-year anniversary of the first organized emigration from Norway to the United States.
The program highlights the historic 1825 voyage of the Restauration, the small sloop that carried 52 Norwegians from Stavanger to New York City, an event that shaped the future of Norwegian-American heritage. Enjoy a short film, a presentation by Dr. Ernst (Fred) Tonsing, and a musical performance by Dr. Torkil Hammer on the Swedish nyckelharpa.
