New Staff Employee Onboarding Programs. Effective this month, the HRD launched a new staff employee onboarding program. All new staff employees will participate in a two-part program through HR. Within the first month of their new role, HR will host an Orientation meeting with the new employee to provide an introduction to Cal Lutheran along with an overview of important policies. After Orientation, the new employee will take part in a Staff Learning Community. These communities will run 10 weeks twice a year to introduce division leaders, highlight job-related resources, and explore professional development while building connections with other new staff across campus. Please direct any questions to Leigh Fine, Learning & Development Manager.

... Governor Newsom signed Senate Bill 1162 into law. This law requires employers with 15 or more employees to include the salary range that the employer reasonably expects to pay in job postings. Effective January 1st we may no longer post the “Hiring Range” as “Dependent on Experience.” Note that existing law prohibits employers from asking job applicants about their salary history. In addition, this law requires employers to (upon request) provide a current employee with the pay range for their position. Cal Lutheran employees are able to see the salary grade range associated with their position in eMAP. Please utilize these instructions to access your position description. If you have questions, please contact Xialu Chen.
