Graduating Later Than Expected? Take the Next Steps!

Do you know when your I-20 expires? Does it reflect your actual completion timeline? If not, and you need more time, don’t let it expire. If you will not complete your academic program by that date,

then you will need an extension.

If it is your case, submit a program extension request on your OISS Student Portal and upload financial documentation that shows your ability to pay for tuition and living expenses for the extended time.

LOOKING TO EXPEDITE YOUR OPT APPLICATION? 

Students who have applied for Optional Practical Training (OPT) and would like to receive a faster processing decision from USCIS may consider requesting Premium Processing.

 

USCIS allows eligible F-1 applicants to file Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service, online for OPT applications. Premium Processing provides expedited adjudication of eligible applications within the timeframe announced by USCIS. Those who choose this option must pay an additional Premium Processing fee directly to USCIS.

 

Anyone interested in requesting Premium Processing is encouraged to carefully review eligibility requirements, current processing timelines, and filing instructions on the USCIS website before submitting Form I-907.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: OPT AND STEM OPT REPORTING REQUIREMENTS 

To all CLU alumni currently on Post-Completion OPT or STEM OPT:

 

Please remember that maintaining your F-1 status requires timely (within 10 days) and accurate reporting of your employment and any changes to your situation.

 

POST-OPT Students:
You must report your employment, address changes, and any period of unemployment.

 

STEM OPT Students:
You have additional reporting requirements, including validation reports, updates to Form I-983, and employment changes.


Log in to your OISS Student Portal, select STEM OPT Reporting, and review the details in the online form to stay in compliance: 👉 STEM OPT Reporting Portal

REALTYHOP SCHOLARSHIP

(FOR UNDEGRADUATE STUDENTS ONLY)

The RealtyHop Scholarship is a merit-based award supporting undergraduate students and graduating high school seniors in the United States. There is no restriction on nationality, as long as applicants are enrolled in a U.S.-based institution. It recognizes individuals who demonstrate ambition, leadership, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

 

Deadline: August 31, 2026

 

Awards:

  • $1,000 per round (up to $2,000 annually)
  • 2 awards per year (one per deadline)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a current undergraduate student or graduating high school senior in the U.S.

  • Be pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree

  • Must apply using a school email (or provide proof of enrollment/acceptance)

  • Must demonstrate leadership, ambition, and entrepreneurial mindset
