Do you know when your I-20 expires? Does it reflect your actual completion timeline? If not, and you need more time, don’t let it expire. If you will not complete your academic program by that date, then you will need an extension. If it is your case, request an I-20 Extension on your OISS Student Portal and upload financial documentation that shows your ability to pay for tuition and living expenses for the extended time.

Important Message: Update on U.S. Student Visa Policy Developments

We are aware of recent news reports regarding changes to U.S. visa policies, including a pause on student visa issuance due to enhanced social media vetting, and discussions surrounding visa revocations for certain international student populations.

While these announcements are still developing and official details have not yet been released by the U.S. Department of State, please know that California Lutheran University is actively monitoring the situation and in communication with relevant partners and resources.

We understand how important clarity and support are during this time, and we want to reassure you that we are committed to keeping you informed. As we learn more, we will continue to share updates and guidance to help you navigate next steps.

In the meantime, we encourage all students to check our Travel Advisory page regularly for the latest information and support resources.

If you have urgent questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Office of International Students and Scholars at international@callutheran.edu.

Address Change? Stay on Track with Your Immigration Requirements

It's essential to keep your U.S. address updated to maintain compliance with immigration requirements. If you’ve moved since submitting your original U.S.-based residential address (where you physically reside), you are required to submit a Change of Local Address Update within 10 calendar days.

Here’s how to update your local address in SEVIS:

  1. Check the address listed in your OISS Student Portal under the "Personal & Program" tab.
  2. If your address needs updating, go to the Academic Services' "Forms & Documents" page.
  3. Click on "Name/Address Change Form".
  4. Fill out the form and send it to academicservices@callutheran.edu

Stay on top of this requirement to ensure your immigration record remains compliant!
